Legacy

Encouraging words were given to us last night: –

Legacy

I heard the word “Legacy” in my heart as I was driving up this evening, before hearing anything that was said (in our gathering). God has honoured you with a goodly legacy; a life changing legacy. He has said to you the same thing he said to Noah – “Look, I now confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you….” and to Abram – “I will bless those who bless you… and all the families of the earth will bless one another by your name.”

Empowering the legacy
“David gave to his son Solomon the blueprints for the temple porch…he gave him the blueprints of all he envisioned for the courts of the Lord’s temple… he gave him the regulations for the divisions of priests…..” This is where you are at currently; your passion to pass on knowledge for the next generation to build upon. As David said, “All of this I put in writing as the Lord directed me and gave me insight regarding the details of the blueprints.”

Encouraging the Legacy
“David said to his son Solomon: ‘Be strong and brave! Do it! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! For the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not leave you or abandon you before all the work for the service of the Lord’s temple is finished.”

Consecrating the Legacy
“David praised the Lord before the entire assembly…. ‘Make my son willing to obey your commands, rules and regulations, and to complete building the palace for which I have made preparations.”
In one sense, this is preaching to the converted. You already believe this, and are practising it. However I sense that the Lord would remind you that he sees it; he is telling you himself that he has placed this in your heart. Moses started out telling God reasons why he couldn’t carry the weight of responsibility that was placed on him, but he is known ever more as the man with whom the Lord would speak face to face, as with a friend.

In the same way, you do not consider yourself worthy to bear the responsibility of passing on the wealth of knowledge that you possess, but God promises you that your legacy will outlive you; that long after you have departed this earth and have joined the ‘great cloud of witnesses’, your legacy will have established indelibly a lifestyle of the Kingdom within the Caribbean, and what God has purposed for your life in sending you away from your home and family in the UK will have been established, for God’s word does not return to him without fulfilling its purpose. It is probably only then that you will see the extent of what God has done in and through you.

“Then all those who respected the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord took notice. A scroll was prepared before him in which were recorded the names of those who respected the Lord and honoured his name.” God says to you that he has taken notice!
